Joel “El Fenomeno”Alvarez

Joel Alvarez is a rising star in the UFC world. He hails from Spain and has been making waves for his incredible skills as an MMA fighter. Born in 1992, he began his fighting career at age 15 when he took up boxing. In 2012, he began training with top Spanish teams such as ECS Fight Team and Drako Sports Club to further develop his technique and compete professionally.

Since then, Joel’s career has taken off with impressive wins over notable opponents such as Fabricio Camoes, Damir Hadzovic, Stefano Paterno, Kevin Aguilar and more recently Aslanbek Kozaev at UFC Las Vegas 20 in October 2020. His performance against Kozaev earned him a Performance of the Night bonus which further cemented his reputation as one of Europe’s best fighters and earned him a spot on the UFC roster.

Joel’s style is marked by relentless aggression combined with technical precision; always looking for an opening to land devastating strikes or take control of the fight on the ground where he excels at submissions due to his Jiu Jitsu black belt training under Fernando Gonzalez.
