Jake Camarda Bio
Jake Camarda is an American football punter from Norcross, Georgia. Born April 20, 1999, he attended Norcross High School before playing at the University of Georgia from 2018 through 2021. Georgia listed him at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, and he handled both punting and placekick-holding duties for the Bulldogs. He earned his undergraduate degree in sport management in fall 2021.
Camarda became one of Georgia’s leading specialists, earning first-team All-SEC recognition from the league’s coaches in 2021 after a decorated 2020 season that included SEC Special Teams Player of the Year honors. His college profile emphasizes both leg strength and placement ability, with punts downed near the goal line as well as long-distance kicks. He was also part of Georgia’s 2021 national-championship team.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Camarda in the fourth round, 133rd overall, of the 2022 NFL Draft. He received NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors as a rookie and added another such award plus NFC Special Teams Player of the Month recognition in September 2023. Tampa Bay waived him on October 22, 2024; he later signed a reserve/future contract with Buffalo on January 7, 2025 and was released on July 22, 2025.
Camarda signed with the UFL’s Columbus Aviators on February 3, 2026. The Aviators placed him on the Reserve/Retired List on March 16, 2026. As of September 30, 2026, that is his latest verified professional transaction, so he should not be described as a current Buccaneers or Bills player.
