Blaine Gabbert

Blaine Williamson Gabbert was born on October 15, 1989, in Ballwin, Missouri. From a young age, Gabbert showed exceptional talent and promise in football, becoming known as a five-star blue-chip All-American and ranking 14th in the entire nation according to Rivals.com. As an outstanding player in his high school team, the Parkway West Longhorns, Gabbert earned the MVP honors at the Elite 11 quarterback camp in 2007. Despite injuring his foot during his senior year, he managed to record 623 passing yards and five touchdowns in just four games.

Gabbert’s impressive high school football career positioned him as a top recruitment prospect for college football. After initially committing to the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers but then rethinking his decision, Gabbert decided to attend the University of Missouri. He served as the third-string quarterback during his freshman year, gradually proving his skills and abilities on the field. In 2009, his debut for the Missouri Tigers against the Illinois Fighting Illini was nothing short of stellar, securing 313 passing yards and four touchdowns, one of which was on the ground.

In his sophomore season, Gabbert set career-highs with 30 completions and 468 yards against Baylor. Taking a bold decision in January 2011, Gabbert chose to forego his senior year to participate in the 2011 NFL Draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars saw his potential and selected him as the 10th overall pick in the first round. His professional career began on a high note when he signed a contract worth $12 million for four years. Although initially not serving as the primary quarterback, Gabbert seized his opportunity to impress during the regular season. In the following years, Gabbert’s professional career saw him play for a number of NFL teams, including the Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His time with the Buccaneers saw him win Super Bowl LV as a backup, marking a high point in his journey.
