Regrettably, Irving’s senior year football season in 2020 was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic; however, he left high school with an impressive record. He accumulated a total of 3,264 rushing yards during his high school career, a remarkable achievement that had the University of Minnesota scout him for their college football team.
In 2021, Irving started his college football career as a true freshman at the University of Minnesota. He was off to an industrious start, rushing 133 times in his freshman year for a total of 699 yards with four touchdowns to boot. After his impressive rookie season, Irving made the decision to transfer to the University of Oregon to further advance his career.
Irving’s first year at Oregon was nothing short of a revelation. He recorded a total of 1,357 yards from scrimmage and delivered 13 touchdowns both receiving and rushing. His powerful performances continued into his second season in 2023, where he generated 1,180 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 186 carries.
