Cade Otton

Cade Otton, born on April 15, 1999, is an acknowledged American football player, currently serving as a professional tight end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). Prior to embarking upon his professional career, Otton honed his skills in college football at the University of Washington and ascended to the NFL after being chosen by the Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft.

Otton’s story started in the humble suburb of Tumwater in Washington, where he attended Tumwater High School. With football being his significant passion and forte, he received regional acclaim during his senior years. Otton was named The Olympian’s All-Area Football Player of the Year after demonstrating his exceptional skills on the field. He remarkably recorded 39 receptions for 733 yards with 13 touchdowns on offense and astoundingly accomplished 107 tackles and three sacks on defense.

Incidentally, his prodigious performance attracted the eyes of scouts from the University of Washington where he committed to play college football. His freshman year in 2017 was spent redshirting, a strategic sports move that would eventually aid in his growth as a player.

In 2018, as a sophomore, Otton played in all 14 games with 10 starts under his name. He concluded the year with considerable advancements; recording 13 receptions for 174 yards and three touchdowns. His performance surpassed previous high-profile players, marking him as a player of substantial potential and ability.

The following year, Otton started in all 13 games and impressively recorded 32 receptions for 344 yards and two touchdowns. In his junior year, 2020, he started all four games and had 18 receptions for 258 yards and three touchdowns. This boost in his career progression resulted in many speculating his early departure into the NFL. However, he returned to Washington for his senior year in 2021, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his team and his relentless desire for personal growth.

His senior year successfully led him to the opportunity of a lifetime. Otton was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round, 106th overall, of the 2022 NFL draft. His NFL career lifted off spectacularly when, in Week 9, Otton received a pass from the prominent Tom Brady, resulting in a game-winning touchdown in a 16–13 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.

Otton’s debut year as a professional rounded off on a high note. He completed his rookie season with 42 receptions for 391 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in 16 games and 11 starts. His extraordinary achievement indicated his rapidly emerging prowess in professional football and left fans and critics eagerly awaiting his future performances.

On the personal front, Otton intertwined his life with Sierra Snyder and the couple ceremoniously tied the knot in 2021. Cade also carries an athletic lineage as he is the nephew of the renowned Brad Otton.
