Matt Schnell Bio
Matt Schnell is an American Mixed Martial Artist who has established himself as one of the most promising fighters in the UFC. He currently fights for the flyweight division and has become a fan favorite due to his aggressive style of fighting.
Schnell was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and began wrestling at a young age. He eventually went on to compete in high school, where he won two state championships. After graduating from high school, Schnell continued his career by joining Team Takedown, which led him to compete in amateur MMA tournaments throughout Louisiana before turning professional in 2012.
In 2014, Matt made his Bellator debut at Bellator 127 against Cortez Coleman and won via unanimous decision to kick off his professional record with a win after five hard fought rounds. It wasn’t long until he became known as one of the best prospects in mixed martial arts and caught the eye of Dana White during 2016’s The Ultimate Fighter 24: Tournament Of Champions season finale when he defeated Hiromasa Ogikubo via rear-naked choke submission in just over two minutes due to his impressive performance. Since then Matt has held steady wins against opponents such as Tim Elliott and Jordan Espinosa while competing under UFC’s Flyweight Division where he currently holds an 8-2 record with six finishes coming by way of submissions or knockout victories..
Outside of fighting Matt enjoys spending time outdoors training with nature activities like mountain biking or snowboarding whenever possible – often accompanied by some friends from fight camp – as well as weight lifting sessions several times per week that help maintain muscle tone for competition day . Additionally , Schnell spends what little free time he has connecting with family & friends back home from where it all started . In 2018 , Schnell completed coursework towards attaining degree following completion undergraduate program at University Texas Arlington..
