Rogerio Bontorin is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on May 12, 1990, in Sao Paulo and began training to become an MMA fighter at just sixteen years old.

Bontorin started his professional career in 2010 with a record of 4-1 before signing for Japanese promotion Pancrase two years later. During this time he compiled a 5-2 record and became known for his aggressive approach when fighting inside the cage. This aggression helped him secure impressive victories over notable opponents such as former UFC fighters Yuki Yasunaga and Mamoru Yamaguchi.

After impressing promoters, Bontorin signed with Rizin Fighting Federation in 2017 where he immediately made an impact by winning three consecutive fights via submission or knockout. His dominance earned him a call up to join the UFC roster later that year but he would have to wait until 2019 before making his debut against Raulian Paiva at UFC Fight Night: Błachowicz vs Santos where he won via unanimous decision after three rounds.

Since joining the UFC, Bontorin has gone 2-1 inside the octagon with wins against Manel Kape and Ray Borg while suffering defeat at hands of Kai Kara France back in June 2020. Despite this setback, The Brazilian is still considered one of flyweight divisions best prospects due to his impressive record prior to entering into the promotion’s ranks which includes multiple finishes against high level opposition. In 2021, Rogerio will continue to look for big opportunities as he looks towards furthering his career within the sport of mixed martial arts which could very well see him compete for championship gold one day soon!
