Lerone Murphy Bio

Lerone Murphy is an English professional mixed martial artist from Manchester who competes in the UFC featherweight division. As of September 21, 2026, the UFC lists him as active, training at Manchester Top Team and fighting in a kickboxing style. He stands 5 feet 9 inches tall, has a 73.5-inch reach, and made his UFC debut on September 7, 2019, against Zubaira Tukhugov. Murphy was born on July 22, 1991.

Murphy developed into a prominent UFC contender through a patient, technically disciplined rise. He earned notable featherweight victories over Edson Barboza, Dan Ige, Josh Emmett and Aaron Pico, including a spinning-elbow knockout of Pico at UFC 319 in August 2025. That result led to a UFC London main event against Movsar Evloev on March 21, 2026; Evloev won by majority decision. Murphy previously held the Full Contact Contender featherweight title, and the UFC credits him with a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. His style combines kickboxing, measured distance striking and improving all-around MMA skills, with a preference for sustained work rather than reckless exchanges.
