BIOGRAPHY
Hailing from Dagestan, Russia, Zubaira Tukhugov is a rising star in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He made his UFC debut in September 2014 as part of The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber.
Tukhugov was born on April 15th 1990 and began training martial arts at the age of 13. His early training included various disciplines such as Sambo, Judo and kickboxing before he eventually switched to MMA when he was 18. Before signing with The UFC Tukhugov trained at Makhachkala Fight Club where he honed his skills under the tutelage of fellow Dagestani fighter Said Buri-Sultanoff.
His professional career started in 2009 with a series of successful bouts across Russia that earned him an 8-1 record heading into his first major tournament; The Combat Sambo World Championships . Here he won gold medal which would be followed by more success over Russian based organizations including ProFC where he collected top honors in two weight divisions. After collecting multiple titles it was only natural for him to make the jump to the world’s largest promotion: The UFC
Tukhugov’s debut fight landed against Thiago Tavares at “the Ultimate Fighter finale” which ended up being awarded “fight of night” honors due to its thrilling back and forth battle that saw close decisions granted for both combatants resulting in a draw after three rounds . His next fight however was much less controversial when took on promotional newcomer Phillipe Nover who became victim to some accurate striking combinations ending in a second round tko victory for Tukhugov . These wins set up future bouts against stronger competition such as Arnold Allen and Renato Moicano Which although ended different still showcased why Tukhagouv should considered one most fearsome fighters currently competing under banner ultimate fighting championship today .
