Makwan “Mr. Finland”Amirkhani

Makwan Amirkhani is an Iranian-born Finnish mixed martial artist and professional wrestler currently competing in the featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born on February 8, 1988 in Tehran, Iran, he grew up playing various sports such as wrestling and soccer before being introduced to mixed martial arts when he moved to Finland at age 10.

Since then, his MMA career has included immense success on regional Scandinavian circuits as well as an impressive tenure with Cage Warriors where he won three fights in a row. He made his UFC debut in April 2015 against Masio Fullen at UFC Fight Night 64. The fight ended quickly; Amirkhani successfully executed a flying triangle choke within 8 seconds for one of the fastest finishes ever recorded by the promotion. Following this win, Amirkhani began taking more high risk moves during fights which earned him additional attention from fans and media alike.

In 2016 he had two wins over Japanese fighters Yusuke Kasuya and Mike Wilkinson before suffering his first loss to Arnold Allen at UFC Fight Night 107 also known as “London” event . In total Makwan has eight official victories under the banner of UFC including notable wins over Jason Knight , Chris Fishgold , Davey Grant , Danny Henry , Enrique Barzola among others. He was last seen fighting against Nate Landwehr where after a back and forth affair both fought out their time limit resulting in split decision victory for Makwan “Mr Finland”.
