BIOGRAPHY
Kamuela Kirk is an MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter and a competitor in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). He has competed in both professional and amateur bouts since making his debut in 2018. He currently holds a professional record of 8-2, with six wins by submission.
Kamuela was born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. From an early age he showed great athleticism, competing in soccer and wrestling during his high school years. It wasn’t until after graduating that he took up martial arts when friends suggested he try jiu-jitsu at a local gym.
He quickly became hooked on MMA training, taking up boxing and Muay Thai as well to round out his skill set. In 2014 Kamuela moved to Arizona where he continued to train under some of the best coaches around for three years before returning back home to Hawaii for good in 2017.
When Kamuela made his pro debut in 2018 it was clear from the start that this would be no ordinary career path – winning all four fights via submission inside two rounds or less! His performance earned him respect amongst fighters and fans alike so much so that when news came through later that year that he had signed with the UFC it made perfect sense – here was an exciting new prospect ready to make waves within one of mixed martial art’s biggest promotions!
Since then Kamuela has gone onto impress again proving himself capable against premier competition such as Anderson dos Santos who he defeated via unanimous decision at UFC 251 earlier this year. What makes him special is not just how well rounded but also how creative his striking game is; blending together different punches kicks & elbows using angles you wouldn’t expect from someone as young & inexperienced as him – something which could endear him further too many fight fans watching from around the world!
To date there are no signs of slowing down for Kamuela who hopes one day soon enough to become champion of his weight class bringing prideful moments not only personally but also Hawaiin people everywhere!
