Douglas Silva de Andrade is a professional MMA fighter competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)’s Bantamweight division. Born and raised in Uberlandia, Brazil, he began honing his martial arts skills at the young age of seven. Growing up, Silva de Andrade was an avid fan of Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which he used to participate in local tournaments during his adolescence.
He moved to Sao Paulo when he was 18 years old to pursue mixed martial arts professionally under Wand Fight Team coach Wander Braga. After spending three years training with Braga’s team, Silva de Andrade made his professional debut in 2011 for the Jungle Fight organization. He quickly earned recognition for winning fights against some of Brazil’s top fighters such as Junior Maranhao and Francisco Trinaldo. His accomplishments would eventually earn him a contract with UFC late 2012 where he faced off against Marcus Vinicius in January 2013; winning by unanimous decision.
Since then Douglas has had a successful career within UFC where he holds notable wins over Mitch Gagnon, Henry Briones and Marlon Vera among others. Despite having multiple losses on his record as well (including two back-to-back losses due to kneebar submissions), this hasn’t stopped him from proving himself inside of the octagon every time out; earning performance bonuses or being given “Fight Night” awards for his efforts throughout his career with UFC—from bouts against Michael McDonald to Matthew Lopez—he continues showing why people call him one of Brazil’s best MMA talents today and why everyone should be watching out for Douglas Silva de Andrade whenever future match ups are announced!
Outside of training camps and competition preparation periods; Douglas enjoys spending time at home with family & friends while also going fishing whenever possible which helps keep him relaxed before upcoming fights or after tough ones that sometimes take their toll mentally & physically on any athlete! With all these hobbies combined alongside taking part in various charity events around Uberlandia like blood donation sessions or helping underprivileged children get access to sports equipment/activities – it shows how much heart this man has outside the cage as well which further adds onto why we should continue rooting our support behind Douglas Silva de Andrade now more than ever!
