BIOGRAPHY

Deiveson Figueiredo is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Flyweight division. He began his career as an MMA fighter in 2014, and quickly gained recognition for his impressive knockout power, finishing 10 of his first 12 bouts within the distance.

Figueiredo was born on May 11th, 1989 in Paracuru, Ceara. As a child he pursued capoeira but eventually found himself drawn to Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai instead as these were more popular activities among young people at the time. After high school he became a professional MMA athlete after signing with Shooto Brazil in 2014 and has since had 18 total fights under their banner. Most notably during this period of his career he earned two victories over future UFC fighters Eric Spicely and Ray Borg before making the transition to America’s premier organization early 2018 when he fought Jarred Brooks at Fight Night 125 for a split decision victory which earned him Performance of the Night honors from UFC president Dana White.

His debut inside The Octagon was not without controversy however, as some questioned whether or not Figueiredo had made weight following news that Sergio Pettis would be replaced by Joseph Benavidez due to medical issues prior to weigh-ins. Nevertheless this did not deter “Daico” from continuing on with great success winning four out of five bouts including taking home back-to-back performance bonuses for submissions against Tim Elliott at Fight Night 144 alongside short notices wins over Alex Perez and Jussier Formiga most recently establishing himself as one of the top contenders within UFC’s 125 pound divisional rankings where currently sits second overall behind only Demetrious Johnson whom many consider to be one of greatest athletes ever compete within its walls regardless weight class or promotion they fight under respectively

Figueiredo is also known for having an intense rivalry with former champion Henry Cejudo whom lost title belt before retiring late last year leaving Flyweight championship vacant leading many pundits speculate that eventual victor between both men could very likely face off reigning Bantamweight king TJ Dillashaw potentially being crowned undisputed champion once unification bout takes place later year depending upon how negotiations pan out until then fans can count upon seeing Deiveson continue put together exciting performances each time steps into cage proving why so loved across globe despite language barrier existing between them all while chasing down gold prize everyone dreams achieving someday
