BIOGRAPHY

Trenton Jacoby Brown, or more popularly known as Trent Brown, was born in Bastrop, Texas on April 13, 1993. Growing up, he attended Deerfield-Windsor School and eventually moved to Westover Comprehensive High School, situated in Albany, Georgia. Initially, Brown was basketball-focused during the early part of his high school days. However, he showed a shift in his athletic interests during his junior year and dedicated himself to football.

After graduating from Westover High in 2011, he enrolled at Georgia Military College where he had the opportunity to play football at a more competitive level. His two-year stint at Georgia Military College saw him actively contributing to the Bulldogs’ robust running game that averaged 188 yards per game. His impressive performance resulted in him being named a second team NJCAA All-American in 2012 and become highly sought-after for recruitment by several NCAA Division I schools including esteemed universities such as Arizona, Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, and Oklahoma among others.

Among the numerous opportunities laid out for him, Brown chose to attend the University of Florida where he enrolled in May of 2013. Standing at a towering height of 6-foot-8 and weighing a massive 363 pounds, Brown was the largest offensive lineman for the Gators since Max Starks back in 2003. This feat led some to regard him as the largest player to have ever graced the field in a Florida Gators uniform.

In the early phase of his Florida years, Brown initially took on field goals and assumed the role of a reliable “Jumbo” figure during short yardage situations. However, following an injury to his fellow player, Tyler Moore, Brown was promoted to be the starting tackle within the same year. In the following season, he transitioned to the critical role of a starting guard.

His hard work and consistent performance propelled him to the big leagues in 2015 when the San Francisco 49ers chose him in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL draft. He played his rookie season mostly as a blocker in the starting lineup for the last two games, totaling five games for that year.

In 2016, a personalized endorsement from Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller spotlighted Brown’s talent on a nationwide level. Miller’s praise, emphasizing Brown’s potential and skill, helped cement his reputation as an upcoming NFL talent. This glowing recommendation aligned with Brown remarkable 2016 performance where he started all regular-season games for the 49ers.

The following year, his season was cut short due to a shoulder injury which landed him on injured reserve. He then became a part of the New England Patriots in April 2018 as a result of a trade, where he became their starting left tackle.

Under Bill Belichick’s strategy of deploying a heavy roster for a power-run offense, Brown was a key player. His contribution in the 2018 season led the Patriots to win against the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.

In March 2019, Brown signed a four-year contract worth $66 million with the Oakland Raiders, ensuring a guaranteed sum of $36.75 million. The deal established him as the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league. Though he faced injuries in the latter part of his tenure with the Raiders, he managed to achieve his first Pro Bowl selection.

After a short stint with the Patriots in 2021, during which he faced calf injuries that led to multiple games being missed, Brown penned a two-year deal worth $14 with the team in March 2022.

In the spring of 2024, Trent Brown made another crucial career move. He signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he was immediately appointed their starting right tackle. However, his debut season was marred by an unfortunate torn patellar tendon in Week 3 of the season, leading him to miss the rest of the season. Despite the setback, Brown has demonstrated his tenacity and dedication to the sport time and again, establishing his position as a valuable asset to any team he joins.
