Brad Hawkins Bio
Brad Hawkins is an American football coach and former safety from Camden, New Jersey. As of September 25, 2026, he is Michigan’s assistant safeties coach. Hawkins joined the Wolverines’ staff as a defensive graduate assistant in 2024 before moving into his current coaching role in 2026.
Hawkins played at Michigan from 2017 through 2021 after beginning his college career as a wide receiver and transitioning to the secondary. He became a starting safety, served as an alternate captain during his senior season, earned third-team All-Big Ten recognition in 2021 and was named a five-year letter winner. Michigan also recognized him as its Most Improved Player on Defense in 2019 and co-Defensive Skill Player of the Year in 2021.
Hawkins entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons in 2022 and later spent time with the New England Patriots, including a stint on their practice squad. He is listed at 6-foot-1 and was born on July 26, 1998.
