Parry Nickerson was born into the world on October 11, 1994. Today, he stands tall as an American professional footballer whose reputation is solidly built in the role of a cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles, a team under the National Football League (NFL). A significant milestone in his football career was his time spent as a college football player at Tulane. Although he endured a career-threatening knee injury in the early days of his first season, Nickerson displayed an indomitable spirit and a fierce refusal to succumb to setbacks.

Back on the field, he kicked off an awe-inspiring comeback that spanned 48 subsequent games where he bagged 46 starts. During this phase, he boasted a total of 16 interceptions coupled with 31 pass deflections. In 2017, his outstanding performance saw him being recognized as a semi-finalist for the prestigious Jim Thorpe Award. His senior season also had him concluding with notable statistics like 55 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 6 interceptions, and 8 pass deflections.

One cannot tell the story of Parry Nickerson without the mention of his remarkable speed. At the 2018 NFL Combine, Nickerson recorded an impressive time of 4.32-seconds in a 40-yard dash. This feat pitched him alongside two other cornerbacks – Donte Jackson of LSU and Denzel Ward of Ohio State – tying for the fastest time.

In the sixth round of the 2018 NFL draft, Nickerson’s talent was recognized by the New York Jets who selected him as the 179th overall pick. He made his bold entry into the NFL on September 10, 2018, during a 48-17 win against the Detroit Lions. He made a significant impact on the field by recording a tackle and brilliantly deflecting a pass on his first career play on defense.

Significantly, he experienced a career move on August 31, 2019, when he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a conditional 2021 seventh-round pick. However, by 2020, Nickerson’s professional journey saw him move between several teams. This included a stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a quick run with the Green Bay Packers, and a return to the practice squads.

Although Nickerson was signed by the Minnesota Vikings in May 2021, he was waived by August that year before being quickly re-signed to the practice team. Here, he signed a reserve/future contract with the Vikings on January 10, 2022, only to be released again later that year.

Between 2023 and 2024, Nickerson rotated between the Miami Dolphins, back to the Vikings for a brief moment, and finally, landed with the Philadelphia Eagles in the June of 2024.
