Andrew DePaola is an NFL long snapper for the Minnesota Vikings. As of September 21, 2026, the Vikings list him on their active roster, wearing number 42. He is 6 feet 1 inch tall, attended Rutgers, and was born on July 28, 1987, in Maryland. Minnesota agreed to terms with DePaola again on March 10, 2026, continuing his tenure with the organization.
DePaola entered Rutgers as a walk-on and initially worked in the quarterback and holder roles before moving to wide receiver and eventually long snapper. He took over snapping duties after an injury to Rutgers’ regular long snapper and finished his college career as a dependable specialist. His transition reflected the versatility that has defined his football career: he developed from a high-school quarterback into a professional long snapper whose work supports punts, field goals and extra points.
DePaola went undrafted in 2010 and continued pursuing an NFL opportunity, including time with Tampa Bay before making his NFL debut for the Buccaneers against Carolina on September 7, 2014.
