Mekhi Blackmon, an astoundingly talented American professional football cornerback for the prestigious Minnesota Vikings, came into this world on the 18th of March in 1999. His life began in the bustling urban city of Hayward, California, but his formative years were spent in East Palo Alto, California. His passion for football started blossoming during his time at Menlo-Atherton High School, where he first stepped foot on the gridiron and began to hone his skills.

After high school, Blackmon decided to play community college football at College of San Mateo. At San Mateo, he spent one year stepping up his game and bolstering his chances of playing Divison I football. After an impressive tenure here, in 2018, Blackmon committed to Colorado and joined the Colorado Buffaloes to forge ahead with his dream of playing at a higher level.

Blackmon wore the Buffaloes jersey for four glorious years, where each moment on the field only made him stronger and more determined. Then, he made the decision to switch teams and play for the USC Trojans, to broaden his experiences and tackle new challenges. His collegiate career was nothing less than stellar. By the time he hung his collegiate cleats, Blackmon had accumulated an impressive total of 142 tackles, including 4 for a loss. He had also registered 1 sack, 5 interceptions, 24 pass deflections, 2 fumble recoveries, and forced 2 fumbles.

The 2022 season was easily his strongest. It was during this year that he showcased his exceptional skills fully, posting record statistics that included 66 tackles of which 2 were for a loss, 3 interceptions, and 12 pass deflections in addition to a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. His performances earned him a spot on the prestigious First Team All-Pac-12 Conference.

Following his successful stints in college football, all eyes were on Blackmon for the 2023 NFL draft. Several projections placed him as a 5th to 6th round selection, owing to his previous remarkable presences on the field. However, the Minnesota Vikings chose him in the third round as the 102nd overall pick, a testament to their faith in his capabilities.
