Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota is an American football quarterback for the Washington Commanders as of September 13, 2026. Washington re-signed him on March 11, 2026, and he remained on the Commanders’ initial 2026 53-man roster. Listed at 6 feet 4 inches and 222 pounds, Mariota is a veteran quarterback who has also played for the Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders, Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles.

Born on October 30, 1993, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mariota attended the University of Oregon, where he developed into one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in school history. In 2014, he became Oregon’s first Heisman Trophy winner and received major national honors including the Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Player of the Year and Davey O’Brien Award. He led Oregon to the College Football Playoff championship game and earned Rose Bowl offensive MVP recognition during his collegiate career.

The Tennessee Titans selected Mariota with the second overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. His playing style has traditionally combined efficient pocket passing with mobility, option-read ability and the willingness to extend plays outside the pocket. His experience and quarterback background have also allowed him to contribute as a steady veteran presence in Washington’s quarterback room.
