Before he forayed into the realm of professional football, Treadwell showcased an epical demonstration of his football proficiency during the years 2013-2015, playing for the Ole Miss Rebels. His supreme prowess earned him second-team All-American honors in 2015.

Treadwell proved his mettle as a valuable asset to the team, making an indomitable exit as the school’s all-time leader with a whopping 202 receptions spread over a tenure of three seasons. His extraordinary potential on the field caught the attention of the Minnesota Vikings who selected him in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. His professional journey in football has seen him as part of commendable teams such as the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, and Seattle Seahawks.

Treadwell’s skill was not confined to professional leagues alone; he made quite an impact during his high school years. The Crete-Monee High School in suburban Chicago witnessed the rise of this stellar football player whose three-year football career proved him as the second-leading receiver in Illinois prep history, boasting 3,563 yards. Treadwell primarily donned the hat of a wide receiver showcasing remarkable performances as a quarterback and an indispensable part of the team’s defense during his sophomore through senior years.

Season after season, Treadwell exhibited escalating growth in his performances. As a sophomore, he logged 58 passes for 811 yards and seven touchdowns. His prowess on the field didn’t go unnoticed as he clinched several accolades as a junior, including the NWI Times Offensive Player of the Year, Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Year, and a first-team all-state selection. This recognition was a result of his commendable feat of recording 75 catches for 1,391 yards and 18 touchdowns on offense and 45 tackles and eight sacks on defense.

Making a clean sweep of prestigious titles such as the Chicago Tribune Player of the Year, NWI Times Offensive Player of the Year, and an all-state first-team as a senior, Treadwell reaffirmed his dominance on the field. This was a result of him leading the Crete-Monee to a perfect 14–0 record and securing the Class 6A state title. Besides his phenomenal achievements on the field, he was also an accomplished basketball guard and forward, averaging 13.0 points and 8.6 rebounds per game for the Warriors.

Regarded as Illinois’ top football recruit in 2013, Treadwell had an impressive track record. He was rated as a 5-star recruit by Rivals.com, Scout.com, 247Sports.com, and MaxPreps, and the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver by Tom Lemming, Rivals.com, and ESPN.com. His physical attributes including his height of 6’3″ (1.91 m), weight of 195 pounds (88 kg), coupled with a reported 4.40 in the 40-yard dash, made him a formidable force on the field.

Treadwell’s journey with the University of Mississippi began with his commitment in November 2012, thanks to his former high school teammate and close friend Anthony Standifer, who motivated him to join Ole Miss. He championed the Rebels for three seasons, finishing with the credential of being Ole Miss’s all-time leading pass catcher in history, with 202 career receptions and with a significant rank in receiving yards and touchdowns.

His early career with Ole Miss saw an impressive performance with 72 receptions for 608 receiving yards and five touchdown catches, earning him the SEC Freshman of the Year by league coaches, hence making the first player in school history to get this distinction. On January 4, 2016, Treadwell announced his decision to forgo his final year at Ole Miss to enter the 2016 NFL Draft, stating that it was his dream to play in the NFL and expressing his gratitude towards his teammates, coaches, and fans for their support.

His potential was highly regarded by NFL Network’s analyst Mike Mayock, who compared him to DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans’ superstar wide receiver. He stirred a minor controversy in June 2016 by posting a photo of himself wearing an Oakland Raiders baseball cap on social media.
