Kyle Van Noy's Biography

Kyle Van Noy, born on March 26, 1991, is a celebrated American professional football linebacker currently associated with the Baltimore Ravens, a National Football League (NFL) team. Born in Reno, Nevada and partially raised in Lodi, California, Van Noy demonstrated remarkable athleticism from a young age.

In high school, Van Noy not only excelled in football but was also a recognized athlete in basketball, baseball, and track, where he was an all-league performer. His astonishing physical and athletic prowess was demonstrated by his high school records, where he ran the 100 meters in 11.84 seconds and the 400 meters in 50.99 seconds.

Van Noy’s football career began to gain momentum after he was ranked as the 63rd best high school athlete by ESPN. Shining as an all-state linebacker and receiver, he led his high school football team to an impeccable 14–0 record securing a 4A state championship in 2008. This performance grabbed the attention of prominent universities resulting in scholarship offers from institutions including Arizona, Arizona State University, Boise State University, BYU, California, University of Colorado, UCLA, UNLV, Nevada, San Jose State University, and Stanford.

Accepting admission to BYU in 2009, Van Noy showcased his talent on the big stage in 2011-12 when he became the only FBS Division I player to record a stat in every major category for the season. As the defensive spearhead for BYU, Van Noy recorded 53 tackles, 22 tackles-for-loss, 13.0 sacks, 2 interceptions, 6 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery, among others. He was named to multiple esteemed football teams for his stellar performance.

Though projected as a potential high pick in the 2013 NFL draft, Van Noy chose to remain at BYU for his senior season all the while grabbing attention with notable performances. His exceptional college football career culminated in an invitation to the prestigious Senior Bowl in 2014.

Van Noy made a headway in professional football when he was selected as the 40th pick by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft. Despite encountering an early career slump due to injuries, Van Noy continued to exhibit his strength and agility, earning recognition and respect within the team.

The trade to the New England Patriots in 2016 marked a significant turning point in Van Noy’s professional career. He finally tasted the Super Bowl victory in 2017 when he helped the Patriots overcome a 25-point deficient against the Atlanta Falcons in the sensational Super Bowl LI.

In 2018, Van Noy cemented his place in the team and ended up as a pivotal player for the Patriots, earning another Super Bowl ring in Super Bowl LIII. His hard work and relentless pursuit of success were rewarded with a two-year, $11.75 million contract in 2017.

The subsequent years saw Van Noy continuing to build his reputation as a versatile and tenacious player, even amid team and location changes. After a year with the Miami Dolphins, he returned to the Patriots in 2021. Later, he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, marking yet another chapter in his impressive NFL career.
