Josh Oliver is an American football tight end for the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings included Oliver on their initial 53-man roster for the 2026 season, and he wears No. 84. He was born on March 21, 1997, and is listed at 6-foot-5. Minnesota extended his contract on June 10, 2025, after he joined the team in 2023.
Oliver played college football at San José State from 2015 through 2018. He developed into a productive receiving tight end and dependable blocker, earning first-team All-Mountain West recognition and serving as a team co-captain in 2018. That season, he also received recognition through the John Mackey Tight End of the Week program after a standout performance against Hawaiʻi.
The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Oliver in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft with the 69th overall pick. He later played for the Baltimore Ravens before signing with Minnesota. Oliver’s style combines size, reliable hands and physical blocking, and the Vikings have identified him as one of the team’s established tight ends and a particularly effective run blocker.
