David Anenih's Biography

David Anenih is a recognized name in the world of professional football, having played as a linebacker for the prestigious Philadelphia Eagles, among other teams. Born on August 15, 1999, his journey from Arlington, Texas to the National Football League (NFL) is one of grit, determination, and sheer talent. While his current affiliation is with the Eagles, David’s football career kicked off with the Tennessee Titans, following an impressive collegiate career.

Growing up in Arlington, David attended Mansfield Timberview High School, where he discovered his potential in athletics. He excelled in both track and field and football, earning an honorable mention in class 5A All-State football in Texas. His skillful displays were attention-grabbing, and by the time he was choosing colleges, David was ranked as the thirteenth player in the state.

David chose to attend the University of Houston, turning down offers from educational giants such as Kansas State University, Oklahoma State University, and Texas Tech University. As a freshman at Houston, David made appearances in nine games and recorded six tackles, with two of them amounting to sacks. He held strong momentum going into his sophomore year, appearing in thirteen games and progressing his defensive statistics further by ranking third on his team for sacks. In his junior year, he tied with the team’s total five sacks.

The year 2020 presented a hurdle to many athletes, David included. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he managed to compete in only eight games that year. However, he didn’t let these unprecedented circumstances dampen his spirits or game. He registered a substantial number of sacks, positioning him fifth in the American Athletic Conference’s total tally.

David finished his final season at Houston marking the peak of his collegiate performance. He played in fourteen games, receiving a nomination to be part of the All-American Conference First Team. Despite such achievements, David landed in the pool of undrafted free agents in the 2022 NFL Draft. But this did not deter him; instead, it marked the beginning of his professional career when the Tennessee Titans signed him.

The journey wasn’t always smooth sailing for David. After being signed by the Titans, he was waived during the final roster cuts, and his contract with the Titans’ practice squad was terminated shortly after. While it may have seemed like a setback, David was undeterred. He proceeded to join the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad after parting ways with the Titans.

Moving forward, David’s career took him to the Atlanta Falcons as an active roster member. He was waived by the Falcons but quickly found a new team, the Arizona Cardinals, who signed him in mid-2023. He had a short stint with the Cardinals and was later released as part of the final roster snips before the commencement of the season.

In 2024, David joined the Miami Dolphins. Unfortunately, this chapter of his professional career also ended abruptly when he was waived. David didn’t let any of these setbacks dissuade him. Instead, he persevered and was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad in September of the same year, where he has since proven his worth solidifying his place in the American professional football landscape.
