Josh Jobe's Biography
Joshua Jobe’s Life, Career and Authentic Football Journey
Joshua Jobe, a Miami native, was born on April 9, 1998, embodying a sheer passion for football from an early age. Growing up in the vibrant city of Miami helped shape his love for the sport while also building up his football skills. Jobe’s early playing career is intrinsically tied to the city, starting at Christopher Columbus High School, where he was already showing signs of his future success.
Jobe’s school years highlighted the combination of raw talent and strategic thinking abilities. He was soon identified as a four-star recruit, catching the eyes of many college football scouts. Initially, he committed to the University of Miami, celebrating his roots and deciding to stay close to his family. However, his high school career was slightly derailed when he was ruled too old to play high school football in Florida and had to transfer schools.
Seeking to continue his football journey, he transferred to Cheshire Academy in Connecticut for his senior year. This second chance allowed Jobe to reopen his recruitment process, considering various offers before he then re-announced his commitment, flipping it to Alabama in December 2017. This marked a new chapter in Jobe’s life, moving away from his home city to embrace a new challenge on the collegiate level.
During his first year at Alabama, Jobe played in 14 games as a reserve defensive back. Even as a true freshman, he did not go unnoticedāregistering eight total tackles during the games he played. His sophomore season only reinforced his potential. Jobe participated in 12 games, two of which he started, including the 2020 Citrus Bowl. He managed to record 28 tackles, one interception, and he broke up three passes in that season, bracing himself for an eventual professional career. Despite his performance, his moment of triumph came when he was named the official starter at cornerback for his junior season.
Years later, the memories of Joshua Jobeās college career would be full of vicissitudes, but also of a glimmering championship win in 2020 that placed him squarely on the map of professional football. However, his move to professional football was not without its bumps. Despite his fruitful collegiate career, Jobe went unselected in the 2022 NFL draft. He was quickly picked up as an undrafted free agent by the Philadelphia Eagles on April 30, 2022, joining two undrafted players: Josh Sills and Reed Blankenship who made it onto the final roster that year.
Unfortunately, Jobe’s tenure with the Eagles was brief. He was waived by the team on August 27, 2024. This might have ended nicer for many other players, but not for Jobe. Just two days later, on August 29, the Seattle Seahawks passionately announced they had signed Jobe to their practice squad.
As a professional American football cornerback now proudly playing for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL), Jobeās journey had its trials and errors. But every trial, every hit, every tackle, ultimately honed him into the player he is today.
