Sean Woodson is an American mixed martial artist and former professional boxer who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He currently holds a record of 7-3, with all of his victories coming by way of knockout or submission.
Woodson was born on October 6th 1988 in Greenville, South Carolina. Growing up, he trained in wrestling, boxing and jiu-jitsu at local gyms around town. In high school he continued to train and compete as an amateur wrestler. After graduating from college he turned his passion for combat sports into a career when he competed professionally as a boxer. During this time Woodson built up an impressive 8-2 record before deciding to pursue MMA full time in 2015.
In 2016 Woodson made his amateur debut at RFA 47 where he scored his first victory via submission due to strikes inside the first round. He then went on to win three more fights before making his professional debut at Titan FC 40 two years later where he earned another first round finish via TKO against Douglas Freymiller Jr on July 28th 2018.
Since turning pro Woodson has gone 5-1 competing for Bellator MMA, winning both “Knockout of the Night” awards along the way against D’Angelo Bynum and Daniel Carey respectively during Fight 2 Win 105 & 131 events held earlier this year (2020). His most recent win came at UFC Fight Night 181 which took place on November 11th 2020 when Sean knocked out Julian Erosa just 29 seconds into their bout earning him yet another “Performance Of The Night Bonus” award from UFC President Dana White himself!
It was announced recently that Sean will be joining fellow fighters such as Miesha Tate & Brian Ortega as one of twelve new ambassadors for Reebok’s Combat division starting January 2021 alongside other greats like Demetrious Johnson & Henry Cejudo so it’s safe to say that we can expect big things from him soon! With fights booked against top contenders like Youssef Zalal next month it will not only be interesting but exciting to witness what lies ahead in Storey’s bright future!
