Luis Saldana is an American mixed martial artist and fighter who has been competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) since 2019. Born in Santa Ana, California in 1991, he began his amateur career at just 17 years old when he won a championship tournament for the Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Federation of Mexico. After turning professional, Luis racked up an impressive record that included wins over notable names like Fabricio Werdum and Gilbert Melendez.
In 2019, he was signed to the UFC and made his debut against Raulian Paiva at UFC Fight Night 156 on August 10th, 2019. He went on to win the fight by unanimous decision after three rounds. Since then he has gone 3-2 in five fights with one draw against Mark De La Rosa at UFC Fight Night 167 on February 15th 2020. He most recently defeated Jordan Griffin via technical knockout (TKO) at UFC Fight night 178 on September 19th 2020 in Las Vegas Nevada earning him “Performance of the night” honors from the promotion as well as a $50K bonus check for his efforts.
