Amanda Ribas is a Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter who currently competes in the Women’s Strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She made her professional MMA debut in 2012 and has since gained recognition in the sport.

Ribas was born on June 24, 1993, in Bahia, Brazil. Growing up she had a passion for martial arts. At the age of 9, Amanda began training jiu-jitsu with world renowned instructor Antonio “Rogerio” Nogueira at his gym – Top Brother Academy. In 2009, she earned her black belt under Nogueira and went on to win multiple tournaments as both an adult and juvenile competitor including gold medals at two World Championships.

Ribas continued to compete while attending college studying physical education and nutrition sciences after which she decided to pursue a career as an professional MMA fighter full time. She signed with Invicta FC in 2016 where she won two bouts before joining UFC’s roster in April 2019.

In July 2019 Amanda faced Randa Markos at UFC Fight Night 155: de Randamie vs Ladd where she emerged victorious via unanimous decision earning her first victory inside the OctagonTM . Following this success Ribas put together a four fight winning streak which included three stoppages by submission or technical knockout until dropping her most recent fight against Marina Rodriguez by split decision at UFC257: Poirier vs McGregor II on January 23rd 2021 – Her largest pay-per-view audience event thus far, attracting over 2 million buys making it one of 2020’s highest grossing PPV events.. Despite this loss Ribas remains one of UFC’s top strawweight contenders with an impressive 11-1 record fighting out of American Top Team located near Coconut Creek Florida.

Outside competing for UFC Amanda enjoys spending quality time with family & friends along with various leisure activities such as surfing , snowboarding , playing beach volleyball & capoeira classes when not training or preparing for upcoming fights . In addition ribas also started her own brand ‘Ribyfit’ producing fitness apparel focused on inspiring women around the globe that anything is possible if you set your mind into it regardless of obstacles life might present us . As part of being ambassador to mental health initiatives that support those living with depression & anxiety ribass launched #ByYourside – A campaign encouraging others no matter what we are facing there will always be help available as long we look up towards our inner strenght & reach out whenever needed .
