Irene Aldana

Irene Aldana is one of the most notable female Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters in Mexico and has become a star within the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She is known for her aggressive, yet technical style and has proven to be an unstoppable force in the cage.

Born on June 25th, 1990 in Hidalgo, Mexico. Aldana discovered MMA at a young age through martial arts movies, but it wasn’t until she was sixteen that she decided to pursue her interest by training with local gyms and participating in amateur tournaments. After competing successfully on the regional circuit for two years, Aldana signed with Mexican MMA organization Tachi Palace Fights and made her professional debut as part of their tenth show.

Aldana soon became recognized for her impressive takedowns and ground-and-pound attack as well as her strong striking ability which helped her win numerous fights via decision or knockout. This led to several high profile appearances including XFC 21 where she battled now UFC champion Jessica Andrade to a draw after three rounds; Invicta FC 7 where she defeated Peggy Morgan via unanimous decision; and Combate Americas 13 where she faced current flyweight title challenger Katlyn Chookagian ending in another unanimous decision victory for Aldana— this time securing a championship belt along with it.

Following these successes Irene caught the attention of UFC president Dana White who wasted no time signing her up to compete under his banner at UFC 180—where despite suffering an early defeat against Leslie Smith due to an accidental eye poke—she declared that “there is still much more left inside me” which proved true when just over four months later at UFC 188 she won via submission against former WEC bantamweight champion Mariana Yamamoto making history as only second woman from Latin America ever signeed by the promotion after Jessica Aguilar . Since then “Robles” has gone on to make waves with each fight triumphantly winning five bouts out of seven including dominating victories over Raquel Pennington at Fight Night 112 & Sijara Eubanks at Fight Night 143 .
