Holly Holm is an American professional mixed martial artist, formerly a boxer and kickboxer. She currently fights in the UFC women’s bantamweight division. Holm was born on October 17, 1981, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Roger and Tammy Bredy. She began taking gymnastics classes at age three and attended Manzano High School before graduating from University of New Mexico with a degree in psychology.

Holm began her boxing career shortly after college when she signed up for a class offered by world champion trainer Mike Winkeljohn at his gym—Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA Academy—in 2001. After two years of training with Winkeljohn as well as Greg Jackson, she had become a successful professional boxer competing in nine different weight classes over the course of her career (from super featherweight to welterweight). From 2002 to 2006 she held seven titles: WIBA light welterweight World Champion (2004); IBA lightweight World Champion (2005); WIBF/GBU Welterweight Championship belt; IFBA world Featherweight Championship belt; GBU USA Light Welterweight Championship belt; IFBA Intercontinental Junior Light Weight Championship belt; WBC Middle Weight Women’s Americas championship belt (2006).

Holm transitioned into mixed martial arts in 2011 after signing with Bellator Fighting Championships where she won all six matches during her tenure there which included defeating Anne Sophie Mathis twice due to knockouts within seconds of their second fight beginning. In 2013 Holm made the move to the Ultimate Fighting Championship where she has since gone on to have an impressive record having won 12 out of 16 matches including major victories over Ronda Rousey who had previously held an undefeated record prior to fighting Holm and Bethe Correia whom Holly defeated via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 95: “Cyborg vs Ladd” event back in 2016. Her most recent victory was against Irene Aldana which took place at UFC Fight Island 3: “Holm vs Aldana” back in July 2020 resulting again with a unanimous decision win for Holly without losing any rounds throughout the match itself showing just how consistent great shape this veteran fighter still is even today at 38 years old!

On top of being one amazing athlete within the octagon, Holly also spends time outside of it coaching boxing classes along side fellow former champ John Hackleman while continuing work towards achieving new heights within both boxing & MMA alike! With such an impressive track record already established behind her name you can bet that we will continue seeing great things come out from this legendary fighter well into future events yet unknown so stay tuned sports fans as there is sure plenty more action coming our way courtesy none other than “The Preachers Daughter” herself – Miss Holly Holms!
