BIOGRAPHY

Trevon Coley is an American football player, who has predominantly played as a defensive end in professional football leagues. Born on the 13th of July, 1994, he started his football journey from Miramar High School in Miramar, Florida, representing the Patriots. Coley’s performance during his senior year in 2011 was acknowledged with the prestigious Second Team All-State title.

Inspired by the love for the game, Coley pursued a college football career at Florida Atlantic University, as part of the Florida Atlantic Owls, from 2012 to 2015. He showcased significant progress and footballing acumen over the years. In his final year, 2015, he was recognized as First Team All-Conference USA. Known for his leadership abilities, he served as the team captain and was also awarded the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) title. He participated in 48 games throughout his college career, all as starts. Besides excelling on the football field, Coley majored in Communication from Florida Atlantic. His dedication to the sport led him to participate in the 2016 East–West Shrine Game.

During the 2016 NFL draft, Coley was rated as the 33rd best defensive tackle by NFLDraftScout.com. However, Lance Zierlein from NFL.com predicted that he would go undrafted, due to his smaller stature, despite acknowledging Coley’s strength, solid hand usage, and admirable motor. Nonetheless, Coley signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted player, on May 6, 2016. A few months later, he was waived by the Ravens, but soon joined the Washington Redskins’ practice squad.

Though briefly released by the Redskins, he found his spot in the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad by December 2016. In the beginning of 2017, he signed a reserve/future contract with the Browns. His performances with the Browns were marked with significant plays and team contributions. However, he was waived by the Browns in 2019, after which he joined the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad.

Coley’s journey led him to signing with the Indianapolis Colts in late 2019, followed by the Arizona Cardinals in 2020. After a brief stint with the team, he was waived during the final roster cuts. Subsequently, he joined the New York Jets, after being claimed off waivers. His next sign was another stint with the Tennessee Titans from June 2021 to August 2023. However, his time was briefly hampered due to injury, resulting in him being placed on injured reserve.

Coley’s professional journey took another turn as he signed with the Chicago Bears in August 2022. He spent a month with the team before being released and signed onto their practice squad. For a second time, he represented the Tennessee Titans between August 2021 to August 2023. Next, he joined the Arlington Renegades and San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League (UFL) in 2024. However, both assignments ended fairly quickly with his release.

Currently, Trevon Coley is a free agent, with an extensive professional football history spanning over eight different professional football teams. Outside of his professional life, he is the cousin of the former NFL quarterback, Rohan Davey. Throughout his journey, Coley has proven himself to be a dedicated and hard-working player, who continues to seek opportunities to contribute to the passion and competition of American Football.
