Armon Watts

Armon Watts, born on the 22nd of July, 1996, is a celebrated figure in the field of professional American football. He has played the defensive tackle position for several prominent teams within the National Football League (NFL), including the New England Patriots.

Armon Watts first began his pro football journey at the University of Arkansas, where he excelled in their college football program. His powerful defensive tactics, along with his strong work ethic, left a lasting impression on those who scouted talent for the NFL.

Unfortunately, his rookie season was abruptly cancelled when he sustained an injury that required him to be put on the injured reserve list on the last day of December 2019.

In August 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Watts had another obstacle to overcome. He was listed in the reserve/COVID-19 list by the Vikings on August 4th, forcing him to momentarily step away from competition. Fortunately, his quarantine status was lifted just two days later, and he returned swiftly to the football field.

However, on August 30, 2022, a new challenge arose when the Vikings decided to waive him. This circumstance opened a new door in his professional career. A day after he was waived, on August 31, the Chicago Bears claimed the promising player through the waivers process.

In April 2023, another milestone was marked in Watts’ career journey when he signed a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. This new endeavor brought about a wealth of new experiences and lessons for the defensive tackle.

A little less than a year later, in March 2024, the New England Patriots took advantage of an opportunity to add Watts’ strengths to their team. Proving his value to the team, Watts had several star performances before tragically being placed back on the injured reserve list on August 27.
