Recognized primarily for his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks of the esteemed National Football League (NFL), his career has seen him excel on several teams. The early journeys of this skilled player trace back to his college years and beyond, where Gipson’s talent for football began to shine.

Establishing his foundation in the sport, Gipson attended Cedar Hill High School, where he developed his potential as a formidable player on the 2014 State Championship team. With a commitment to his future, Gipson, a 2-star recruit at the time, committed to play at the University of Tulsa on November 15, 2014. He opted for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane over Tennessee State, promising a fruitful future for himself.

After a redshirt year, Gipson later saw reserve action throughout his freshman and sophomore seasons. Gipson ultimately gained a starting role in 2018, his junior year. He led a remarkable season with five forced fumbles, taking up a position tied for second in the FBS. His skills drew the attention of Pro Football Focus, who recognized his stopping power and ability to pressure quarterbacks, leading to his first-team All-American Athletic Conference (AAC) selection.

Adding to his growing list of accolades, Gipson was invited by Von Miller to participate in Miller’s pass rush summit before his senior season. Following a successful senior year, Gipson again earned first-team All-AAC recognition for his exceptional performance on the field. He showcased his prowess further by participating in the 2020 Senior Bowl and NFL Combine.

Gipson’s hard work and determination paid off as he was selected by the Chicago Bears with the 155th pick in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft. He later signed a four-year rookie contract with the team on July 21.

During the 2021 NFL season, Gipson had an impressive record, appearing in 16 games where he logged 39 tackles, seven sacks, and caused five fumbles. Despite the game loss to the Green Bay Packers 27-10 on September 18, 2022, he managed to record two sacks.

Before the commencement of the 2023 season, Gipson was waived on August 29 as part of the final roster cuts. His journey continued on August 31, 2023, when he found a new home with the Tennessee Titans. Gipson’s journey took a turn on March 18, 2024, when he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, shortly after, on August 26, 2024, he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a late-round draft pick.

Off the field, Gipson shares a relationship with sports through his older brother, Thomas Gipson, a professional basketball player. Their shared love for sports signifies the family’s athletic prowess, creating a legacy that extends beyond football.
