Jones attended the West Covina High School in California, where he played football under the tutelage of coach Mike Maggiore. His impressive performances contributed to the school’s CIF South Section Southeast Division title win and cemented his reputation as a gifted athlete. By his senior year, Jones had already amassed honorable mentions across the San Gabriel Valley Tribune and the Pasadena Star-News.

Jones moved on to the University of Washington to pursue higher studies, but his passion for football remained unquelled. He joined the Washington Huskies football team and emerged as a starter in his freshman year by 2014 end, earning the Husky Fever 12th Man of the Year award. He held his position as the starting cornerback for all 13 games in 2015 and continued cementing his place in the spotlight.

During his three-year collegiate career, Jones was named second-team All-Pac-12 as a sophomore and first-team All-Pac-12 as a junior. He also won the Tyee Sports Council Community Service Award.

Having made a considerable impact at the University level, Jones declared for the NFL Draft in 2017. However, during the University of Washington’s Pro Day, he suffered an Achilles injury, which significantly affected his draft prospects. Despite the setback, his talent and potential were undeniable, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to select him as the 43rd overall pick in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Although his injury forced him to miss much of the season, Jones made his NFL debut on December 31, 2017, during the Eagles’ last regular-season game against the Dallas Cowboys. He missed Philadelphia’s entire Super Bowl LII Championship run due to another injury but was back in the field by the 2018 season, where his participation was limited due to multiple hamstring injuries.
