Carson Tinker Bio
Carson Tinker is a former NFL long snapper who was born on November 15, 1989, in Decatur, Alabama. He played college football at Alabama and stood 6 feet tall. Tinker entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2013, signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He later spent time with the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Las Vegas Raiders, Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams.
At Alabama, Tinker became the Crimson Tide’s starting long snapper and was part of national championship teams in 2009, 2011 and 2012. His work also extended beyond football. After the April 2011 tornadoes in Tuscaloosa, he represented Alabama when the team received the 2011 Disney Spirit Award for its community service and rebuilding efforts. Before his senior season, Alabama awarded him a full athletic scholarship in recognition of his contributions on and off the field.
Tinker’s NFL career included a return to Jacksonville after a knee injury interrupted his 2017 season, followed by later stops with Tampa Bay, Las Vegas, Seattle and Los Angeles. The Rams were his final NFL team affiliation, and he appeared for Los Angeles during the 2023 season. On August 11, 2024, Tinker announced his retirement from professional football. His career is defined by specialized execution, durability and service to teammates and communities rather than a conventional offensive or defensive role.
