BIOGRAPHY

Nicholas Morrow was born on July 10, 1995, in the United States. He is an accomplished professional football linebacker who gained fame through his remarkable skills in the National Football League (NFL). Indeed, his football journey has seen him play for prestigious teams like the Buffalo Bills, paving his way to nationwide recognition.

Morrow’s journey began in Greenville, Illinois, where he attended Greenville University and played college football. The extraordinary talent and passion he showed for the game in college got him noticed by the Oakland Raiders who signed him to a three-year contract worth $1.67 million on May 4, 2017. This came with a signing bonus of $7,500. Morrow’s signing was a historical event for Greenville University as he became the first player from the University to sign an NFL contract.

During the training camp, Morrow showcased his competitiveness and skill as a linebacker. His performance saw him compete for a starting linebacker position against notable players like Marquel Lee and Tyrell Adams. His exceptional demonstration of talent moved Head Coach Jack Del Rio to name him the primary backup weakside linebacker behind Cory James early in the regular season.

Morrow debuted professionally in the Raiders’ season opener against the Tennessee Titans. His solo tackle during the game contributed to their 26-16 victory. He had his first career start at middle linebacker against the San Diego Chargers in October 2017 following Marquel Lee’s ankle injury. Although they lost the game 17-16, Morrow registered five combined tackles, three solo, and one pass deflection, proving his worth on the team.

In his rookie football season, Morrow attained impressive stats. He completed the season with 60 combined tackles, 40 solo, and four pass deflections in 16 games and five starts. However, the end of the 2017 season saw the Raiders fire their Head Coach Jack Del Rio following a 6-10 season record.

Throughout training camp, Morrow continued to impress, competing for the starting weakside linebacker position against Emmanuel Lamur and Marquel Lee. His exceptional performance earned him a position as the backup strongside linebacker behind Tahir Whitehead as per the directive of Head Coach Jon Gruden.

Morrow remained consistent, eventually earning his first start of the season in November 2018. He registered four solo tackles and executed his first career sack during the Raiders’ 34-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Despite a 40-33 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs, Morrow remained steadfast, setting a season-high record of seven solo tackles.

As a backup outside linebacker, Morrow’s competitive edge saw him up against Marquel Lee and Jason Cabinda in a bid to serve as the primary backup. This led to Coach John Gruden naming Morrow the backup weakside linebacker behind Marquel Lee early in the season.

In March 2020, the Las Vegas Raiders made the strategic decision to place a second-round tender on Morrow. This move was followed up with a one-year contract, valued at $3.259 million, signed by the Raiders in April 2020.

Throughout the year, Morrow displayed excellent skills. In a game against the New Orleans Saints, he led the team with seven tackles and recorded his first interception of the season. He recorded his first sack of the season against the Denver Broncos, leading to a 37-12 victory.

Morrow continued his journey and signed a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears in 2022. The following year, he signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite being released by the Eagles in August of the same year, he soon re-signed to the practice squad and was later promoted to the active roster.

In 2024, Nicholas Morrow moved to the Buffalo Bills after signing a year-long contract. Over the years, his depth of skill and experience has seen him rise through the ranks to become a central figure in the NFL.
