Jordyn W. Brooks, born October 21, 1997, is widely recognized as one of the most skillful and determined professionals in American football today. He operates in the position of linebacker for the esteemed Miami Dolphins, a team that forms part of the National Football League (NFL). A significant part of Jordyn’s formative years were channelled into strengthening his skills, making him one of the few exceptional individuals to chalk in significant successes on both the collegiate and professional scales.

Jordyn was born in Dallas, Texas, but his family relocated to Houston, Texas during his childhood where he consequently grew up. His journey into the football world began earnestly at Stratford High School where he showcased immense talent. This led to his recognition as All-District 19-5A in both his penultimate (junior) and final (senior) years.

His impressive talent didn’t go unnoticed as he had attractive offers for college football from prestigious universities such as Arkansas, Houston, Missouri and Washington. After careful deliberation, Brooks committed to Texas Tech University to further carve his path in the sporting arena.

As a freshman at Texas Tech, Brooks started a string of deserving recognitions, earning the distinction of a freshman All-American by 24/7 Sports. Furthermore, he was named an All-Big 12 Conference honorable mention thanks to a commendable score of 86 tackles, four passes deflected and a forced fumble.

His sophomore year was not any less impressive, finishing third on the team’s scoreboard with 89 tackles, an interception, and deflecting two passes. This remarkable performance earned Brooks his second consecutive honorary mention by All-Big 12. He developed a habit for leading in tackles, raking in 84 of them in his junior year, with 7.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and an interception.

In his final year of college, Jordyn was recognised as a top prospect for the 2020 NFL Draft by ESPN analyst Mel Kiper, and was included in the watchlist for the prestigious Butkus Award for the top linebackers within the country. He indeed made his mark, delivering a striking performance of 19 tackles with three sacks against #21 ranked Oklahoma State. This distinguished performance saw him crowned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and the national defensive player of the week by both the Football Writers Association of America and the WCFF.

Culminating his college career, Brooks was a first-team All-Big 12 and a consensus second-team All-American selection, having made an impressive stat line of 108 tackles, including 20 tackles for loss and three sacks. He finished with a notable 367 tackles in college, ranking as seventh-most in the history of the school, added to 33 tackles for loss and seven sacks with two interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumbles recovered.
