Deadrin Senat's Biography

Deadrin Senat was born on July 22, 1994, and is best known as a proficient American professional football nose tackle. As of now, he is exploring opportunities as a free agent. Senat has established a significant presence in his field since his formidable college football career at South Florida. His talent was first recognized on a wider scale when he was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft.

Initially, Senat had his eyes set on Florida State, committing early during the recruitment process. However, prioritizing his career explorations, he opted for decommitment, testing waters and considering all possible options. This decision paved the way to an impressive senior year for Senat, asserting his potential as he was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First-team.

In a momentous feat for South Florida, Senat, along with teammates Quinton Flowers and D’Ernest Johnson, was invited to the 2018 East–West Shrine Game. It was the first time three players from the Bulls had the honor of an invitation to this prestigious event. Consequently, on November 30, 2017, news broke that Senat had accepted the invitation to play in the Shrine Game.

Senat performed commendably during game practices, considerably augmenting his draft stock and catching the attention of scouts. Unfortunately, an unexpected minor knee strain during practice halted his participation in the East–West Shrine Game. Senat was subsequently approached with an invitation to participate in the 2018 Senior Bowl, which he had to decline owing to his knee injury.

Undeterred by the unfortunate offset, Senat attended the NFL Scouting Combine. His dedicated performance, comprising all the combine and positional drills, further elevated his standing in the football domain. At South Florida’s pro day on March 26, 2018, the aspiring defensive tackle relied on his combine results, focusing only on positional drills for the day. By the end of the pre-draft process, Senat was projected as a third-round pick by NFL draft experts and scouts and was ranked as the eighth-best defensive tackle in the draft by DraftScout.com, while Scouts Inc. ranked him ninth.

The Atlanta Falcons signed Senat in the third round of the NFL draft, making him the ninth defensive tackle drafted that year. On May 10, 2018, he received a four-year contract from the Falcons, valued at $3.42 million, along with an impressive signing bonus of $817,960. Senat was, however, waived/injured and placed on injured reserves on August 8, 2021, before being released on November 8.

Senat’s journey took a new turn when he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on April 21, 2022. Though he was waived by August 30, 2022, he was quickly signed to the practice squad the next day, and was promoted to the active roster about three weeks later on September 21.

In 2023, Senat experienced a series of turnovers as he was waived on August 28, re-signed to the practice squad on September 20, promoted to the active roster on December 16, released on January 5, 2024, and re-signed to the practice squad four days later. Not being signed to a reserve/future contract post that season resulted in Senat becoming a free agent again once his practice squad contract expired.

On May 28, 2024, Senat kicked off a new chapter of his professional journey by signing with the Baltimore Ravens. However, his tenure was short-lived as he was released on August 27. Despite the uncertainty of his journey so far, Senat has proven his resilience and dedication, establishing himself as a promising talent in the realm of professional football.
