Amani Oruwariye is an NFL cornerback who was born on February 9, 1996, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He played college football at Penn State after redshirting his first season and became a prominent member of the Nittany Lions’ secondary. Oruwariye earned first-team All-Big Ten recognition in 2018 after developing into a physical outside corner with strong ball skills. He measured 6-foot-2 and recorded a 4.47-second 40-yard dash at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine.

The Detroit Lions selected Oruwariye in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft with the 146th overall pick. He spent his first four NFL seasons in Detroit, including starting roles in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. His later career included time with the New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023, the Dallas Cowboys in 2024, and the Tennessee Titans in 2025. Those affiliations are historical; they do not represent his current team.

As of September 17, 2026, Oruwariye is with the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad. The Ravens originally added him to their practice squad on October 1, 2025, and their 2026 practice-squad update reported that he would re-sign. His playing profile is built around size, press-coverage experience, physicality and the ability to contest passes on the perimeter.
