BIOGRAPHY

Aaron Patrick, an American football linebacker, was born on December 21, 1996. He has a history of signing on with teams in the National Football League as a free agent. A standout athlete, he hails from Eastern Kentucky where he displayed exceptional prowess, performing on the college gridiron.

In his college career, Patrick played for the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, where his abilities spanned five seasons. His tenure with the Colonels had him stepping up his game, ending his college career in a blaze of glory. He reliably managed to tally up 27.5 sacks, an impressive record that ranks as the second-highest in the school’s history.

In what marked a significant breakthrough in his career, Patrick was signed onto the Jacksonville Jaguars, joining the team’s practice squad on the 14th of December, 2020. This agreement extended into the following year when he signed a reserve/futures contract with the team on January 4th, 2021.

However, during the final roster cuts on August 31, 2021, he found himself waived from the team. Nevertheless, Patrick stayed resilient. It wasn’t much later that he was re-signed onto the practice squad on the 9th of September.

The football landscape shifted for Patrick when the Denver Broncos signed him on to their active roster, pulling him from the Jaguars’ practice squad. This significant event happened on September 23, 2021.

In the following year, in the 6th week of the 2022 NFL season, Patrick experienced a career-altering event. He suffered a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), rendering him unable to play, causing him to be placed on injured reserve from October 21, 2022. The unfortunate accident happened in mid-game when he found himself forced out of bounds, colliding with a league official in the process. His foot then planted itself on a fabric mat used to cover broadcast cords and cables, this caused his knee to bend in an awkward position, eventually leading to a tear in his ACL.

In light of the accident, Patrick brought a lawsuit against the NFL on November 17. He alleged the NFL was responsible for the precarious conditions that led to his injury and sought “unspecified damages,” covering metrics such as lost bonuses and possible future earning potential.

Even as the Broncos went ahead to waive Patrick on August 29, 2023, he persevered. His journey thus far is a testament to his determination, a testament to the resilience that makes up his football career. His story continues to unfold, motivating both teammates and fans in the process.
