Casey Tucker

Casey Shane Tucker was born on September 26, 1995, and is now known as a professional American football offensive tackle, classified currently as a free agent. Born in Chandler, Arizona, Tucker spent his childhood years growing up in Gilbert, Arizona and went on to attend Hamilton High School. His high school years became a stepping stone into the athletic world as Tucker participated in prestigious games such as the 2013 Under Armour All-American Game, and he also received an invitation to the renowned 2014 U.S. Army All-American game. His talent did not go unnoticed, and he was a highly coveted four-star recruit for Stanford University.

Entering college, Tucker’s freshman year at Stanford saw him contribute in five games. The following season was a step-up for Tucker. He was the starting right tackle in 14 games, demonstrating his versatility and talent. The season after, he played in eight games, spending the first two as a right tackle and the latter six as a left tackle. However, Tucker made the decision to transfer to Arizona State for his senior year. This move led to a thrilling incident in October of that year when Tucker started in a game against his former team, Stanford. His excellent performance in his senior year led to his selection as an honorable mention for all-PAC 12 following the season.

After graduation, he hoped for a spot in the 2019 NFL draft. Though he went unselected, Tucker’s passion and talent for the game shone through at a successful mini-camp, and he was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent. However, he was released later during the roster cuts.

Despite this, the Detroit Lions recognized Tucker’s talent and signed him to their practice squad on October 30, 2019. He faced a few more ups and downs with the Lions; he was released in November, re-signed in December, and then signed a reserve/future contract on December 30. Unfortunately, Tucker was waived on April 27, 2020.

Undeterred by the setback, Tucker was signed back to the Eagles off waivers on April 28, 2020. Despite being waived again on August 23, 2020, he rejoined their practice squad on December 21, 2020. A few weeks later, on January 4, 2021, he faced another release, marking it as his third time.

The year 2021 brought another opportunity for Tucker. On January 11, he was signed by the Indianapolis Colts. However, his stint with the Colts was short-lived as he was released on April 29, 2021. Despite such fluctuations, Tucker’s journey within the NFL continued. He signed with the Eagles for the fourth time on May 18, 2021, only to be waived/injured on August 17, 2021, which led to him being placed on injured reserve. He faced another release on August 25, 2021, but rejoined the Eagles practice squad on September 29, 2021.

Despite another release from the practice squad on October 20, 2021, Tucker found another opportunity with the Denver Broncos. He was signed to their practice squad on November 9, 2021. However, he was released a month later, on December 21, 2021. Two days later, on December 23, Tucker found himself back with the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad, and he finally made his NFL debut against the Dallas Cowboys in week 18.

On January 20, 2022, a chance for a fresh start arrived when Tucker signed a reserve/future contract with the Denver Broncos. Tucker, however, was waived/injured on August 23, 2022, and placed on injured reserve. A climax to Tucker’s rollercoaster journey within the NFL came when he was waived on May 11, 2023. Despite the tumultuous journey, Casey Shane Tucker remains a prominent figure in football, showcasing perseverance and determination in the face of numerous setbacks.
