A San Diego native, Patrick attended University City High School before playing at Grossmont College and the University of Utah. He earned first-team All-PCAC football recognition at Grossmont in 2013 and also played basketball there. His background included track at high school, giving him a multisport foundation before his professional football career.
Patrick went undrafted in 2017 and entered the NFL with Baltimore. After early stops with the Ravens and San Francisco 49ers, he joined Denver’s practice squad that year. He earned his first NFL start and scored his first professional touchdown in 2018, beginning his progression from practice-squad prospect to an established Broncos receiver.
Patrick brings size and a broad catch radius to the passing game, but his contributions extend beyond receiving. During his 2024 Detroit tenure, the Lions highlighted his willingness to block both defensive backs downfield and larger defenders in pass protection. That combination of receiving ability and physical, unselfish blocking helps explain his value within an offense.
