Kevon Looney is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected 30th overall by the Warriors in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Born on February 6th, 1996, in Milwaukee Wisconsin to Kevin and Jennifer Looney, Kevon was a 4-year varsity letterman and 2-time state champion at Hamilton High School in Los Angeles California. During his senior year at Hamilton he averaged 12 points per game and 9 rebounds while shooting 47 percent from three point range. After high school, he committed to play college ball at UCLA but reclassified as a graduate following his sophomore year so he could enter the 2015 NBA Draft.

Looney started his career with the Golden State Warriors during summer league before signing a contract with them on July 8th 2015; making him the first one-and done player that season to sign pro terms. The young forward quickly established himself as a valuable role player off their bench; despite having limited playing time due to numerous injuries throughout his rookie season.

By 2016, Looney had become an integral part of Golden State’s rotation; appearing in 77 regular season games while averaging 3 points and 3 rebounds per contest. That same year he also made significant contributions throughout their playoff run which culminated with them capturing their second championship within three seasons (2015 & 2017). During this span Looney continued to make great strides developmentally; eventually becoming an important part of both ends for head coach Steve Kerr’s team over time – something not lost by anyone who had watched him grow since joining team roster back in ’15 .

This new deal signaled both sides’ commitment to build around veteran core headed up by Stephen Curry , Klay Thompson & Draymond Green ; indicating that organization saw massive potential within 23 -year old combo forward moving forward . Despite being plagued by nagging hip injury all through 2019/2020 campaign , Kevon still managed remain productive contributor whenever given opportunity shine offensively or defensively ; especially playoffs where he regained form helped push squad past Houston Rockets third round matchup ultimately beat Miami Heat consecutive finals appearance …
