De’Anthony Melton is an up-and-coming professional basketball player for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born in Los Angeles, California on August 13, 1998 and stands 6 feet 3 inches tall.

Melton played college basketball at Southern California from 2016 to 2018. During his freshman season, he averaged 7.8 points per game and 4 rebounds per game in 28 games with USC. He missed most of his sophomore season due to eligibility concerns stemming from NCAA investigations involving USC football players, which included Melton’s own family members. Despite this setback, he declared for the NBA Draft after two years at USC and was drafted 46th overall by Houston Rockets in 2018 before being traded to Phoenix Suns later that summer.

In his rookie season in Phoenix (2018-19), Melton had a breakout campaign as a reliable two-way player off the bench behind veterans Devin Booker and Tyler Johnson– averaging 8 points per game on 41% shooting along with four rebounds and three assists while playing multiple positions defensively thanks to his impressive athleticism and length (6’7″ wingspan). His defensive impact also earned him high recognition amongst NBA analysts; he finished third among rookies in steals (1.2/game) despite playing 25 minutes or less every night during the regular season – earning himself All-Rookie Second Team honors at year’s end as well as praise from former head coach Igor Kokoskov who compared him to Draymond Green for “his ability switch positions on defense”.

The following 2019-20 season saw Melton continue making strides with increased playing time under new head coach Monty Williams – showing growth particularly offensively where his outside shooting improved significantly from 30%+3PTS last year to 36%+3PTs this past year – albeit without consistent opportunities or defined role within the team rotation yet still managing to provide steady contributions when called upon such as 24 points & seven assists against Cleveland Cavaliers back in November 2019 or 22 points & 12 rebounds against Toronto Raptors earlier this January 2020 before play was suspended due current Covid crisis situation around US sports leagues . As of now it is uncertain how exactly things will play out once Basketball resumes but one thing is certain: De’Anthony Melton has solidified himself as valuable asset throughout these past two seasons transitioning into what should be memorable first full campaign coming up next Fall 2020 given all potential development potential provided by another summer training camp together with already established young core group featuring Hall Of Famer Steve Nash leading themoff floor operations side alongside fellow All Star Devin Booker plus Deandre Ayton inside paint area anchoring everything chemistry wise plus guys like Mikal Bridges , Cameron Payne , Elie Okobo etc looking ready step up their respective levels next upcoming years challenge ahead .
