Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins is a professional basketball player who currently plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on February 23, 1995 and has since become one of the most sought after players in the NBA.

Wiggins was raised by his mother and both of his parents were professional athletes from Jamaica. His father, Mitchell Wiggins played for six teams during his ten-year NBA career while his mother Marita Payne-Wiggins represented Canada at the 1984 Olympics as part of its track & field team. Growing up with two athletic parents helped shape Andrew’s love for sports which ultimately led him to pursue a career in basketball when he was only 13 years old.

After attending high school at Huntington Prep School located in West Virginia, it became clear that Wiggins had what it takes to make it big time in the world of sports. In 2014 he declared himself eligible for the draft and ended up being selected first overall by the Cavaliers where he spent one season before being traded to Minnesota Timberwolves along with Anthony Bennett and Thaddeus Young as well as some draft picks to acquire Kevin Love from Cleveland Cavaliers .

Throughout his five years on Timberwolves roster , Wiggins averaged over 19 points per game proving himself as an offensive threat like no other guard or forward could do until now .
