Bobby Portis is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born October 17, 1995 in Little Rock, Arkansas and attended Hall High School in Little Rock. As a freshman at Hall High School, he was named all-conference and helped lead his team to a state championship. Upon graduating from high school in 2014, Bobby went on to play college basketball at the University of Arkansas where he performed very well and earned numerous accolades over two seasons for his stellar play including All-SEC honors twice (1st Team 2015 & 2nd Team 2016). In 2015, Nba scouts began taking notice as Bobby declared himself eligible for the NBA Draft after only two years of college.

In June 2015 Bobby was drafted 22nd overall by Chicago Bulls. His first season with the Bulls could be considered a success as he averaged 7 points per game while starting 34 games throughout the season while playing 23 minutes per contest. The following year saw an increase in production across almost every statistical category with him averaging 10 points per game along with 6 rebounds which earned him Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors during that season too. By his third year however it became clear that there wasn’t enough room in Chicago’s frontcourt rotation anymore as they had acquired some key veterans via free agency so they traded Bobby to Washington Wizards midway through that season but unfortunately due to persistent injuries suffered by both himself and other players around him meant that he didn’t have much success during this time period in Washington before becoming a free agent again ahead of 2019–20 season when New York Knicks signed him up for another opportunity at proving himself yet again and this is exactly what has happened since then—averaging career highs across multiple categories such as 11PPG/7RPG/2APG etc., winning Eastern Conference Player Of The Week award once again plus securing multiple triple doubles since moving back eastward!

For someone who started off being seen more like an ‘energy’ or ‘role player’ type early on into his career not many expected such impressive levels out of Bobby Portis but even today despite having already accomplished so much –he still carries ambitions & dreams about achieving even greater heights within basketball world going forward!
