Tyson Nam is an American mixed martial arts fighter who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s bantamweight division. He began his professional career in 2009, and has since compiled an impressive record of 18 wins and 9 losses, with 14 first round finishes.

Nam was born on May 15th 1983 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Growing up in a household surrounded by domestic violence and alcoholism, Tyson soon turned to martial arts as a way to express himself rather than resorting to fighting outside the ring. At age 16 he began training at Combat Fitness Academy under his instructor Chris Wonsil where he developed his skills as a mixed martial artist. It was during this time that Tyson gained recognition due to his explosive knockout power which earned him the nickname “The Black Hawaiian”.

In 2011 Nam made his debut into the UFC after signing with them on short notice for their “UFC Fight Night 25: Battle On The Bayou” event against Damacio Page which resulted in a unanimous decision loss for Tyson after three rounds of action packed fighting. From there Nam went on to compete five more times with the promotion before being released from contract due to injury issues regarding his back and neck area – something that unfortunately stopped him from competing for nearly four years following 2012.

But it wouldn’t be long until Tyson finally returned back into action once again – emerging out of retirement in 2017 when he signed up for another competition promoting organization called Titan FC where he would rack up two wins prior making it back into UFC by defeating former title challenger Ali Bagautinov at Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 6 undercard event – leading him straight into another deal with UFC later that same year resulting in multiple fights throughout 2018-2019 including memorable battles against Sergio Pettis (resulted win), Kai Kara France (resulted win) & Matt Schnell (resulted loss). Currently ranked #16 amongst other competitors within Bantamweight category – Nam is looking forward towards further octagon appearances while also expanding upon personal brand through launch merchandise such as apparel & supplements online store & launching own podcast series hosted together by combat sports journalist Kaci Luhrsen titled “The Knockout Podcast” .

Outside of cage You can find Tyson spending quality time doing various activities such as fishing, hunting or simply surfing along Pacific coastline located near home city Honolulu – whilst still maintaining training regiments necessary for success inside Octagon alongside coaches Willie Willeford & Rafael Cordeiro at Kings MMA gym located nearby Huntington Beach CA region . With new decade starting off strong so far we can definitely hope for some exciting bouts involving veteran fighter like Tyson Nam happening over course coming months .
