BIOGRAPHY

Rose Namajunas is one of the most successful female athletes in the UFC. She began her career as an amateur fighter, competing in various regional promotions before signing with Invicta Fighting Championships and later joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Since joining the UFC, she has become a household name due to her success inside and outside of the octagon.

Namajunas was born on June 29th, 1992 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to a Lithuanian immigrant family. Growing up, Rose was involved in sports such as basketball and kickboxing. At 18 years old she made her professional debut for Invicta Fighting Championships where she won two fights by submission. This caught the attention of Dana White who signed her to join UFC’s strawweight division in December 2014 at just 22 years old.

Throughout Rose’s career she has gone through periods of both highs and lows but each time coming out on top. In April 2015 Rose fought Carla Esparza for the inaugural Women’s Strawweight Championship at The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale where she won by technical knockout less than 3 minutes into Round One – becoming not only winning the title but also being named “Fighter Of The Night” along with creating history within MMA as this fight marked first time ever that a women competed for a championship title within any major promotion organization worldwide . Following this victory Namajunas went onto have several more successful fights including defeating Joanna Jędrzejczyk twice which earned her “Performance Of The Night” honors from UFC following these victories .

She then took some time off after suffering consecutive losses during 2017-2018 period before making triumphant return against Michelle Waterson at UFC 229 rematch where once again earned “Performance Of The Night” honors from company . Most recently Rose returned back action against Jessica Andrade whom previously defeated Jędrzejczyk 2019 bout , however despite losing fight via TKO round 2 which resulted 5th loss within last 8 outings – Namajunas still managed capture headlines throughout media due strong performances displayed during contest itself showing why many consider one greatest female fighters MMA history today .
