BIOGRAPHY

Erin Blanchfield is a professional mixed martial arts fighter and current UFC Featherweight Champion. She was born in Los Angeles, California, on June 17th 1994. Growing up, Erin had an interest in martial arts and began training at the age of 9. Since then she has developed her skills to become one of the most successful female fighters in the sport today.

Erin started her amateur career competing in kickboxing matches before turning pro and joining the MMA circuit. In 2018 she made her official debut with Invicta FC against Itzel Esquivel, where she won by unanimous decision after three rounds of action-packed fighting. After this impressive win, Erin signed with the UFC for their Women’s Featherweight division and was given a chance to prove herself as a top contender for the title belt held by Cris Cyborg at that time.

She had an impressive start to her career as a professional MMA fighter going undefeated over five fights before being scheduled to fight Cris Cyborg for the featherweight title belt at UFC 232: Jones vs Gustafsson 2 in December 2018 which ended up being changed due to medical issues stemming from Cyborg’s past doping violation history resulting in her removal from competition until further notice. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Erin stepped into replace Cris on short notice and defeated former Strikeforce Bantamweight Champion Tonya Evinger via rear-naked choke submission just two weeks prior to fight night making it an official title defense bout along with fellow athletes Cat Zingano & Megan Anderson who were also competing on that card respectively each taking home a victory too making it three wins out of four fights including hers which gave all women involved recognition from fans worldwide!
Losing only one match since entering the UFC (against Amanda Nunes), Erin continues to show dominance within women’s featherweight division holding notable victories over Felicia Spencer & Holly Holm among others while displaying great potential becoming one of today’s top MMA stars!
