Priscila “Zombie Girl”Cachoeira

Priscila Cachoeira is a Brazilian mixed martial artist signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She competes in the flyweight division and is known for her relentless nature and heart.

Cachoeira was born on July 29, 1988 in Itaberaba, Bahia, Brazil. Growing up she had a passion for several sports including soccer, volleyball, running and badminton. However it wasn’t until she saw an MMA fight that she discovered her true calling. She became determined to learn the sport so at age 18 she began training in jiu-jitsu under Helio Dias and soon after transitioned into muay-thai as well as other disciplines of MMA such as judo and wrestling.

From 2011 to 2017 Cachoeira went on to compete 17 times in various regional promotions throughout Brazil winning 14 fights by either knockout or submission.. Her performances earned her significant attention from fans around the globe which eventually led to her being offered a contract with UFC in 2017. In February 2018 at UFC Fight Night 125 Priscilla made history as she debuted against Valentina Shevchenko becoming only second Brazilian woman ever signed with UFC behind Marina Rodriguez who also competed that night alongside Priscila but lost via decision.

Despite losing by armbar submission after 2 rounds due to verbal tap out following intense strikes received during ground control by Valentina , Priscilla’s performance won over many hearts worldwide earning her respect not just from within the sport but outside of it too with celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger taking note of this impressive debutant . On March 3rd 2019 eight months after suffering another loss again via submission which resulted in ACL injury , Priscilla returned back stronger than before defeating Shana Dobson via unanimous decision at UFC 235 garnering much praise for comeback win .

Going forward , despite being signed with UFC since 2018 – due largely because of recurrent injuries suffered – we have yet to see this talented fighter fully unleash what many people believe is one of most promising young fighters currently fighting in women’s strawweight division .
