BIOGRAPHY

Piera Rodriguez is an internationally recognized mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter and member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born in Mexico City, Mexico, she began her career at the age of 17 when she took up Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. From there, she moved on to incorporate boxing into her training regimen.

At 21 years old, Piera made her professional MMA debut with a victory over Giselle Valle in the Combate America promotion. She followed that up with another pro win against Nana Ademongaya before competing in two amateur tournaments where she won both bouts. After going undefeated as an amateur, Piera joined Tae Kwon Do Academy MMA where she trained under Renato Velamezantin and rose through the ranks quickly becoming one of their most promising prospects.

In 2017 at just 23 years old and with a perfect record of 5-0, Piera was signed to compete in the UFC’s women’s bantamweight division making history as not only being one of the youngest Mexican female fighters ever signed to the UFC but also being part of UFC’s first all Latina card for their “Fight Night: Cerrone vs Till” event held in Gdansk Poland later that year where Piera faced off against Lina Lansberg for a three round battle which resulted in Lansberg winning by unanimous decision after outpointing Rodriguez throughout all three rounds. Following this fight however, Rodriguez was able to rebound from this adversity bouncing back from it even stronger than before by going on to claim 5 consecutive wins since then including 3 knockout victories earning herself recognition amongst some of today’s top contenders who are currently vying for title contention within their respective divisions including titles such as Invictas FC champion Pannie Kianzad among them.
